APPEARANCELola doesn't care much for fashion, so she keeps her wardrobe simple. On lazy days she usually just slips on some cute shorts and a spaghetti t-shirt, and puts her hair in a messy bun. On other days she loves just wearing jeans and a cute halter top, with a jacket over it. Usually she has her hair down but on days when she doesn't feel like messing with it she puts it up. That's how she likes it, simple but trendy. When concerning make-up, she wears very little, and when she does she makes sure it looks natural. She's not one of those girls that puts on dabs of make-up and expensive clothing just to give everyone a good impression, because honestly she doesn't care what others think. She's fairly skinny, with all of her curves in the right places, and she has a smooth, copper complexion. Beautiful, yes, trashy? Never. She's just your regular girl next door.---------------------

HISTORYLola Vane was born on a warm, summer night of June 13th at approximately midnight. Her mother, Christina Vane, faintly died of child birth but was able to pull through with the help of many doctors accompanying her. The baby was a miracle, so the doctors had said that night, and was delivered healthily without any physical problems. And after the next day they were able to bring their new born home. Their other children, Tristan, Will, and Tyson, were all ecstatic to see their new sister. They each took turns holding her, as if she was a precious gift that should always be cherished. And until this day she always had been. They loved their sister, through and through and to that day vowed to protect her with their lives. Lola grew up in a loving family, with many memories that would always be treasured. With four children she was certain that she would remain the youngest, and after all Christina did say that she was through with child birth during her lifetime. But when she turned three they were surprised with another little baby by the name of Daniel Ross Vane. Everyone was happy. Who wouldn't be? They were a family of seven, and hopefully will remain that way until their parents died.
Although one day, one tragic mid summer morning, Johnathon Vane was murdered accidentally when he stepped into a path of a gun fight between two very pissed off guys on the street. The family was devastated, the people sued, and everything was beginning to fall apart. Christina picked up her habit of drinking again, and poor Daniel had to start taking care of himself at the age of seven. The other three brothers weren't fairing much at all either, getting bad grade after bad grade and a long trail of detentions. The only one that seemed to be taking care of herself was Lola. Instead of grieving for her father in a negative way, she stuck her nose constantly in her studies, acing every exam that came her way. But the bad advantage was that she didn't pick up many friends as she use to, and so her social life began to decrease day by day.
But after all the shock was over, the broken family began to go back into their normal routine again. Christina went into rehab for only a short while, and Lola talked some sense into her three brothers about getting their heads straight and to start acting more mature. Surprisingly, they listened and they began to spend time playing football and not in detention. Lola on the other hand started to talk more and more with some of her friends, and her relationships grew.
After awhile everything was back to normal and Christina made sure to throw all her alcoholic beverages away once she got home from rehab. Now she spends time teaching yoga classes and painting portraits of her friends. She still thinks of her husband every now and then, but her heart is slowly mending day by day. It is now Lola's senior year in high school, and with her three brothers already gone and succeeding in their jobs in the business world, her mother only has little Daniel to take care of, with the help of his big sister. So far she is pretty happy with things, and makes sure everyday that she is living life to the fullest. After all, life's short, why waste the precious moments?---------------------

ROLE PLAY EXAMPLEIt was one of those nights where Lola's thoughts drifted back towards her fathers death. She wanted to remember him, but every time she thought of him she didn't think about the good memories but the vision of him walking right between the two Ministry employees, furthermore causing his death. She had never been told the real reason of why the two employees had been dueling in the first place, but Lola wouldn't want to know in the first place. Because what if it was of something stupid? Like one of them kissed the others wife or stole the others promotion? Lola didn't like to think that her fathers death had been of something as stupid as that, so she'd rather not know why the two employees had been fighting. At least he had died trying to make peace between them. But that was the thing about her father, he had never really been a peace maker. So why now? Why start trying to fix things that aren't meant to be fixed in the first place? It only causes trouble, or in her fathers case, death. She missed her father. More than anything or anybody else. She remembered vividly his smile, the one that made everyone seem to smile back because he was always so happy to see them. Lola remembered how he had had this power around him, the kind of power that made people look his way when he left them. The kind of power that caused people to stop and think, who was that guy? He was the guy that everybody loved, that everybody talked about because he was just that great. He knew how to treat people, how to make things worth while when you thought that they would be simply worthless. And the most special thing about him, was that he knew how to make you happy, no matter who you were, friend or foe. No wonder her mother had loved her father so much. Lola just wished that she had time to say good-bye before he had suddenly up and left the earth. It was unfair, really, and if she had just one wish, she wouldn't wish for anything else in the world but to be in her fathers arms one last time.
The memories they had shared between father and daughter were incredible. Lola remembered the way her father had always ruffled her hair affectionately whenever he passed her in the house. This thought made Lola smile and she began to search eagerly for other happy memories. There was that time when her and her father would play one-on-one quidditch, and he would let her win every single time so that she could prove her point about how girls could be better at it than boys. Lola laughed and hugged her knees tightly to her chest, all the while staring at the wall in front of her and digging for more memories. There was also that time when she was nine and her father first taught her the ways of magic. She would sometimes point her wand at an object in the house and he would quickly move it to something less valuable. But then one of her brothers had interfered and made her hit a expensive China vase. Her father had been pissed then, but had tried not to show it in front of her. There had been a lot of times like that, but now that her father was dead, there would be no more. Wiping away the tears that had started to form in her eyes, Lola stood up from her bed and walked down to the Hufflepuff Common Room, trying to get distracted from these depressing thoughts. She hated being depressed, but sometimes she just couldn't help it. Whenever one of her friends talked about their father and how much the hated him, she wondered whether she had ever said stuff like that too. She secretly hoped not, because now that he was gone she felt a sort of envious emotion towards the girls who had fathers. Like, whenever she passed them she had forced back the notion to say You don't know how lucky you have it. and, Love your father while you can... But she knew that those comments would just be simply useless. They didn't know how she was feeling, they didn't understand her situation. To say that would be stupid. So she was left alone to wallow in her own misery, hoping no one else would notice.
But she was getting better, really, she was. She no longer had to live and breathe in her studies like she had done when she had been in complete shock. The teachers had approved of her then, thinking that she was just another intelligent student, but she wasn't really. Now that she could care less the teachers frowned upon her, disappointment glowing in their eyes. Did they think she couldn't see that? Did they think that she cared? Right now the only approvement she needed was from her friends who had mysteriously disappeared one by one when she had been in her shock stage. Although now that she was acting more social and breathing more easily, they were slowly coming back and Lola was grateful. Even though it was her last year in Hogwarts, she wanted to make as many new friends as possible. Because I mean really, why waste the precious moments? Like some of her friends have said, when one door is closed another will open. Lola is hoping that this year that door will be opened and happiness will erupt inside her once again. But it took time. Time and patience. When Lola drifted away from her thoughts she realized that she was not in the Common Room anymore, but in the Sub-Levels. She must've been aimlessly walking when she had been thinking. Stunned for only a moment, Lola began walking again, heading towards the kitchens. She didn't really know why she was going there, but her feet seemed to be somehow taking her there anyway.
When she approached the kitchens Lola walked through the door and almost ran smack right into one of the house elf's. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry." Lola quickly apologized, flushing in brief embarrassment. The house elf glared at her menacingly and started to wobble away, muttering something like, "no good" and "bloody students" under his breath. Brushing some of her bangs out of her eyes, Lola walked further through the kitchens and looked around to see one of her close friends eating cheese on a plate. Jacob Hites. She loved the guy, but not like as a love interest or anything, just as a brother. He was her prefect buddy and not only that but a quidditch team mate. They have known each other for a couple years and she couldn't ask more than a better friend. Lola smiled warmly and strolled towards him. "Having a hunger spurt?" Lola looked down at the plate and scrunched up her nose. "Eh, I'm not a big fan of cheese..." She glanced back up at him and grinned. She always loved teasing him.---------------------
