she didn't bother to change out of her pajamma bottoms and old softball jersey or to brush her hair. she fought her curls into a hair tie and her feet into a pair of chuck taylors, not worrying if she looked like a complete mess or if she'd be seen looking as such. she was sorry, she was. she had thought the picture was funny, she had known it would embarrass andrew, but she hadn't thought it would upset him. she supposed after ten years, she should know better. she should know andrew better.
she didn't bother to find her car keys. it was late on a friday night in san fransisco, traffic would be horrible and savannah didn't have time for traffic. sometimes it really was too late to apologize. she hollared at joey, warning her to not touch the computer or anything in her bedroom, and hollered a goodbye to her mother, before heading out. she dropped her skate board to the pavement and kicked off, listening to nothing but the sound of the wind, her ragged breath, and her wheels against the side walk.
when she approached andrew's house, she didn't bother with the door bell or knocking. he wouldn't answer, his parents were probably asleep or out. she bent at the side of the road to grab a handful of rocks. she tossed one, two, three at his window before his light came on. drew! i'm sorry! she felt something crawling in her palm and dropped the handful of rocks when she realized one of them was a potato bug. ew! drew! i just held a bug in my hand for you!

He was mad, he was beyond mad, he was furious. Andrew has never been mad in his life at anything or anyone but he was mad at Savannah. She promised him that she would never show that picture of him dressed up as a girl. It was a dare after all, but still it was not cool to show it off to everyone. Especially the girl he like, Teagan, who was online. He did not want her to see that picture of him and his friend had to see it as well. He was going to be the laughing stock of the school when it gets out. He was thinking that he should run away and join the circus or something.
He heard something tapping on his window. He didn’t mind it at first but it kept happening again. He sighed, as he rolled off his bed and turned on the lamp light on his end table. He got up and went to the window and looked down to see Savannah there. He really didn’t think that she would skate her happy butt all the way over here. He thought that she would be showing off more pictures of him dressed up. He just stared at her, as he heard her yelling at him that she was sorry. He wanted to forgive her, because they been besties forever but that was an all time low for her to do that to him.
She was now screaming about holding a bug in her hand, as he rolled his eyes and opened the window lightly. “Go home, Savannah. I’m not in the mood to talk right now. I want to enjoy what is left of my life, before tomorrow when I know that my pathetic life is over.” He called out to her in a cold voice. He didn’t want his mother and dad to wake up over their talk. “Go home and have your sleepover.” He was about to close the window and go back to lie down on his bed.

andrew gabriel, do not just dismiss me, she hollered. she wasn't afraid of waking his parents anymore. she wasn't afraid of waking anyone. he'd used her first name and he'd told her to leave, two things he rarely did. she'd messed up this time and she was stubborn and apologetic. she wouldn't just let him be mad at her or to forget about her. she scowled. i was caught up in the moment, i had too much energy, i was laughing to loud and too long for no one else to laugh along with. so you dressed like a girl because i made you, so what? it's not like you're the only guy who's ever done something like that just to make his best friend laugh. it makes you a gentleman, it makes you irresistible.
she was feeding him reason, pouting, and nearly begging him to come down stairs and to forgive her. a guy willing to do anything for his best friend? i'd kill for one of those. she let the silence of the night - excluding the distant sounds of traffic, water, and crickets - fill the atmosphere. she lowered her voice. i'm really sorry, drew. i wasn't thinking and i'm willing to do anything for your forgiveness. want me to dress like a man? dress like a bum? run naked through the town? just name it and i'll do it. i love you, drew, i can't have my best friend hating me. i especially can't stand that he thinks his life is pathetic. you're good looking. you have savannah rodriguez-carr as your best friend, more than half of san fransisco thinks you're cute. you just don't see yourself like i see you. i see you as great and i can't lose that greatness.

Andrew rolled his eyes, because Savannah was trying to do what she does best. He knows Savannah too well and will keep it up until he forgive her. Yet she never did anything like that before to him before. "Savannah, Teagan was there and now she is never going to see me more than a friend. You know that I like her for a while now and I was finally going to tell her that I like her more. Now she will never take me serious!" Andrew sighed as he knows his chance with Teagan just went down the drain along with everything. Devon saw the picture too and was going to make him the laughing stock of the team. Maybe he should quit the team or something.
He just listened to Savannah long time about how she is sorry and everything. "Well nobody is going to think I'm cute with that picture that you shown. I don't want you to dress up as a guy or bum and I really don't want you to go streaking." Andrew looked down at her and shook his head. He wasn't really in the mood to talk anymore about this subject. He just want to wake up and hope it was a dream. Yet that was not going to happen.
"Savannah just go home and hang out with Teagan. You don't have to worry about it anymore." He was ready to just close the window and call it a night, yet knowing Savannah it was not going to happen. He avoided his eyes away from her and spoke again. "I'll call you later." He never calls anyone unless it was important. He was a text person and face-to-face person.

i don't want you to call me later! she snapped, bending down and feeling through the grass, feeling around for the small bug she had dropped and elft for dead, and she tossed it like she had those three rocks, and hit him in the face. you're being stupid! sure, i was being insensitive and careless, but come on, stop being such a dram queen - excuse the pun, she was less apologetic now and more angry. she was sincerely sorry and if he couldn't forgive her, than she'd make him.
teagan's gonna like you for you, no matter what you wear. she doesn't care that i put you in my bra and put my extensions in your hair, she's just going to know that you're a good friend, you're comfortable enough with yourself to do so, you have a good sense of humor, and she'd want a turn to do it to you herself. after you're little 'OH, SAVANNAH, YOU RUINED MY LIFE!' tantrum, though, i wouldn't be surprised if she thought you really were a girl, she looked to him, her lips pursed, and her nostrils flared as she tried to catch her breath through her nose.
fuck, she probably still thinks you're great. she wanted to come with me to see you, to make sure you're alright. sounds like she cares, right? she stood for a minute in silence. whatever, she muttered. man up and call me, or don't. it doesn't matter. if you call, you're the drew i know and love. if you don't.... you weren't worth the last ten years of friendship. she headed back to the side board, kicking the end of her skate board and catching it in her hand. she'd rather stomp her feet while walking home than to board.

Andrew knew that Savannah was right, yet he didn't like to be called a girl. Does he look like a girl to begin with? Damn he really need to hit the gym or something. He just stood there, hearing her yell at him and everything. Damn she was mad and he hates it when she is mad. Something hit him in the face, as he pull it off to find out it was a bug that she thrown at him. Well at least it wasn't a rock that would hurt him. She does have a good arm and all. She could possible whip him all over the place, but he would never lay a finger on a girl. He was taught to treat girls with respect and all.
Andrew leaned over the window and looked down at her. "No...Vanny...look," he began, as he was just giving in. He was mad at her still but not as mad as she is at him. "I don't want to throw my friendship away with you. Yeah I did overreact at the picture, but what do you except me to do about it. I didn't want Teagan to see that to think that I'm an idoit of something." Andrew took a deep breath and admitted to his best friend.
"I have a major, huge, outrageous crush on her! Okay there I admit it and..." he didn't get to finish, as he leaned too far over and went flying down to the ground from the second floor. Good thing the bush was there, but still wasn't going to make his fall pleasent. He landed hard on his back and groaned a bit in pain. The klutz struck again and this time he could actually broke something. He held his arm, as he try to sit up in the bush.
